NAPABA Convention – Stipends Available

CAPABA is excited to offer up to two (2) stipends of $1,000 each for first-time attendees to the NAPABA Convention! Interested applicants should also have been in practice for five (5) years or less and have sought funding to attend the Convention from other sources, such as an employer. Applications will be reviewed by the CAPABA Board, and the stipend(s) will be awarded at the Board’s discretion. The stipend will be paid via check disbursed after the Convention has concluded and attendance at the Convention is confirmed. Interested applicants should submit a resume and brief statement of interest that includes:  (i) interest in attending the Convention; (ii) description of past and/or expected contribution to CAPABA; (iii) statement of first time attendance to the Convention; and (iv) the applicant’s statement that funding to attend the Convention was sought from other sources but such request was declined. Please submit applications to by Monday, Aug. 20, 5PM EST.


Stop Repeating History – Call to Action

Jay Hirabayashi, Holly Yasui, and Karen Korematsu, the children of Gordon K. Hirabayashi, Minoru Yasui, and Fred T. Korematsu, who were among the 120,000 Japanese Americans forcibly removed from their homes and interned during World II, and invite you to support their Call To Action to reject the shameful legacy of Japanese American incarceration and call upon the U.S. Supreme Court to fulfill its role as defender of the Constitution.
